Excitement filled the hall during Friday morning’s assembly as our newly elected House Captains and Vice Captains were announced.
Last week, candidates across the school delivered inspiring speeches to their peers, explaining why they would make fantastic leaders. All pupils cast their votes, and after much anticipation, the results are finally in:
-
Capesthorne House: Paulo & Florence (Joint House Captain) and Alexandria (Vice Captain)
-
Dunham House: Henry (House Captain) and Autumn (Vice Captain)
-
Gawsworth House: Hector (House Captain) and Bodhi (Vice Captain)
-
Tatton House: Monty (House Captain) and Eleanor, Felix & Cordoba (Joint Vice Captains)
The new pupil leadership team features a House Captain from Year 8 alongside a Vice Captain from Year 4 for each of Terra Nova’s four houses: Capesthorne, Dunham, Gawsworth and Tatton. Named after local stately homes and country estates, the house system forms a central part of school life, building team spirit, confidence and a sense of belonging across all year groups.
Our newly appointed captains will take on key responsibilities across the school. They will help to lead and participate in house assemblies, inspire their peers and encourage active participation as pupils compete for house points through academic, sporting and artistic endeavours.
A major focus for the new pupil leaders will be supporting their houses with the organisation of fundraising events throughout the academic year, such as the Christmas and summer fairs.
“Their leadership and enthusiasm will be vital in rallying house support and raising funds for charity initiatives throughout the terms.” Matt Greenwood, Deputy Head.
Congratulations to our newly elected house leaders, and to everyone who put themselves forward as a candidate.
