Our House System
Pupils at Terra Nova love belonging to one of our four Houses! Named after local stately homes and country estates, the Houses of Capesthorne (Yellow), Dunham (Blue), Gawsworth (Green) and Tatton (Red) are a source of great pride for each and every pupil.
Whether competing in one of the major competitions, or building House Points through daily rewards, competition is friendly but fierce, with the name of the winning house for each term etched into the annals of Terra Nova history on the House Winners Board.
Get to Know Our Houses
At Terra Nova, each House has its own unique story and sense of identity. Our Houses are more than just a name; they are communities where pupils form friendships, grow in confidence, and develop a lasting sense of belonging. The names of our Houses reflect the values, history, and spirit that shape life at Terra Nova and the wider area.
house events and competitions
House points and competition victories are most certainly a commodity at Terra Nova! Pupils’ commitment and dedication to their Houses ensures that friendly competition is ever-present throughout the year. Sales and Fundraising devoted to each House’s named Charity, Academic Challenges, House Music, all-manner of sports, Art and Design competitions, and the Summer Term highlight of Sports Day ensure that there are copious points to play for at every opportunity throughout the year, with the Mather Plate winners announced at the end of each term.
Congratulations to our victorious House for the Academic Year 2024-25: Tatton!
