Reception embraced the joys of outdoor learning, as they swapped the classroom for the school grounds to take part in the Great British Birdwatch this week. Our little explorers headed out to the fresh air to experience the wonders of nature within our amazing school grounds.
The birds seemed a little shy at first, but the children showed incredible perseverance, staying quiet and patient as they scanned the trees and hedgerows. Their determination truly paid off. Using their RSPB bird-spotting resources, our clever learners successfully identified a variety of species, from the bright red breast of a robin and the sleek feathers of a blackbird to the tiny, colourful blue tits and even a very cheeky pigeon who stopped by to say hello.
It was wonderful to see their faces light up with every discovery, proving that there is no better classroom than the one provided by nature itself.
