Learning Support
Inclusivity is at the heart of Terra Nova’s approach, ensuring that every pupil is supported to achieve their full potential.
Learning support at the school is overseen by our dedicated SENDCo, who carefully monitors the progress of pupils on the Inclusion Register and ensures that tailored provision is in place. Inclusive practice is embedded throughout the school via quality first teaching, with classroom strategies designed to meet a wide range of learning needs.
Where additional support is needed, pupils can receive 1:1 intervention sessions with specialist teachers, focused on individual learning goals. Academic progress is closely monitored, and strategies are reviewed termly at Pupil Progress Meetings between subject teachers and the SENDCo. For pupils receiving specialist interventions, the SENDCo also conducts a mid-year review, inviting parents to discuss progress, celebrate achievements, and plan next steps.
At Terra Nova, we believe that learning support is most effective when it is collaborative. Teachers, specialist staff, and parents work together to ensure every pupil thrives academically and socially. In addition to targeted interventions, pupils benefit from access to supportive resources, enrichment activities, and a nurturing school environment, helping them to develop confidence, independence, and a love of learning.
